Lá mór na Gaeilge - Belfast
'Lá mór na Gaeilge' is taking place in Belfast on the 12th of April to bring Irish speakers from all over the country together and suport their language rights. This campaign is in place to prove to the Northern and Southern government of the importance of their duties towards the Irish language and of the community that use it.
Young and Old will first come together on the Falls road and begin their walk from there. There will be music groups and other entertainment there for all.
There will be a family bus leaving the An Carn centre at 12:00, midday, on the 12th April. We have planned to have a quick trip around the Belfast College and it will be here that we will eat our lunch at 1.15pm before the walk begins at 2pm.
The bus will collect us again at 4.30pm and we hope to return to the An Carn centre for 5.30pm. Rain coats / clothing will be needed incase of bad weather along with a packed lunch.
We would like to gather up as many people from south Derry as possible to take place in this event. Everyone is welcome to wear their school jumpers / club colours/ crests or anything of this idea.
There is no cost on the bus. If you or your child can come along, contact Leonne or Joe at An Carn on 79549978. There will be leaders going along on this day to help supervise children that have no pearents with them, however, we can only take care of children in Rang 4/ Primary 4 and over with no adult supervision.
For more information contact Joe or Leonne from the above number.
Please book your place as soon as possible!!
