The Carntogher area contains a wealth of sites of archaeological and environmental importance which have been linked together under the banner of the ‘Carntogher Heritage Trail’ facilitating a greater understanding of our past and tracing man’s impact on the local environment from the Neolithic period to the present day.

It should be noted that there are waymarked walking trails at Carntogher Mountain and Drumnaph Wood which can be visited at any time independently of this trail.
