This documentary, made for BBC Northern Ireland shines a light on the work carried out by Michael J. Murphy and Proinsias Ó Conluain in the late 40s and early 50s in Glenhull, exploring the language and lore of what once was the Tyrone Gaeltacht. Featuring interviews from the early 90s with people (Fr. Brendan Devlin, Sheila McAleer, Malachi McAleer, Alice Murphy, Fr. John McCullagh) reflecting on how the Irish language, names, life and landscape of this rural community shifted.
The documentary was made by Flying Fox Films and first broadcast on BBC Northern Ireland in 1993. It is being screened by kind permission of BBC Northern Ireland and Neil Martin.
