Comedy Night: Funny Focail
Fresh from Electric Picnic, Funny Focail, a bilingual stand-up comedy night, is coming to An Carn!
Created by Diane O’Connor and Louise O’Toole this is a fun, accessible show for people with anything from cúpla focal to fluent Gaeilge. The comedy is half trí Ghaeilge agus half through English providing a space to practice and learn cúpla focail, and most importantly to have a laugh! Hosted by Diane and Louise with fuirseoirí den chéad scoth to be announced soon.

Aideen McQueen Bio
Spontaneous (in the losing her keys rather the kitesurfing way), Aideen McQueen is one of the brightest sparks in the new generation of Irish comics. She’s sassy, sexy, saucy and, most importantly, side-splittingly funny.
Aideen appears regularly on RTE, TG4, BBC Northern Ireland and BBC Radio 4. She is one of the resident comperes at the world famous International Comedy Club in Dublin and has appeared alongside such acts as Sean Hughes, Reginald D Hunter, Ardal O’ Hanon, Dylan Moran, Johnny Vegas, Phil Kay and Frankie Boyle.
She has performed at many festivals including The Paddy Power, Comedy Festival,The Electric Picnic Festival and Prague Comedy Festival. This year she had two sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival, where she performed her solo show to sold out audiences and rave reviews, including four stars from the Scotsman.

Diane O’Connor Bio
Diane O’Connor is a stand-up comedian, writer and activist. With her high energy and witty observations she is a regular on the comedy scene playing some of Ireland’s favorite festivals; Electric Picnic, Paddy Powers Comedy Festival and Scene & Heard. She has featured on national radio and television; RTE, BBC Radio Ulster & Ireland Am. She has also written for popular Irish publications such as Hot Press Magazine and The Journal. Diane co -founded Funny Focail with a passion to combine her grá for Gaeilge agus gáire.

Louise O’Toole
A rising star and regular on the Dublin comedy circuit Louise was crowned the Irish Jester of the year in 2024. She brought her first solo show for a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023 and Leicester Comedy Festival in 2024. Since then Louise has returned to Edinburgh Fringe (2025/2026) and graced the stages of All Together Now and Electric Picnic.
