There will be a quick demonstration, before exploring ways of loosening your style of painting, through paint, mark making and textures, working on different scales and surfaces to create free expressions of the beautiful local area.
Suggested List of Materials:
A sketchbook/some paper or card, approximately A5 size (ideally at least 300gsm)
A set of acrylic paints and a selection of brushes
For line and mark making – chalks, pens, pencils, markers, whatever you like to use
Canvas boards, boards and/or canvases of various sizes; no larger than A4, 2 in total
(these can be bought from eg. The Works, Amazon, or The Range),
Any images or photographs of views that you would like to work from.
Sarah Carrington was born in Scotland and studied Fine Art at Edinburgh University and Edinburgh College of Art. Since graduating in 1999, she has been practising as a professional artist, specialising in landscape drawing and painting. Currently based on the beautiful Causeway Coast, Sarah finds endless inspiration for her artwork. She exhibits her work locally and nationally, and regularly facilitates painting workshops within schools, local communities and at events.
